May is our month of birthdays in our house. Shawn's is the 9th, Lydia is the 22nd, and I am the 26th of May. So it's a time for all of us to party. Shawn turned the big 30 this year, and we had a graduation / birthday party with our friends. We BBQed and watched "Honey I shrunk the Kids" on the projector outside. We popped popcorn and had big candy for "conssesions" and had a great night. The weather was beautful. I wish I took some more pictures, but in the moment you are just having fun, not thinking of pictures.
A collage I made of Shawn's life of pictures.
The day of Shawn's birthday he had to be at interviews at the church with the bishop (He is still the executive secretary). So we didn't get to do a whole lot. He blew out some candles, we rushed to dinner at chilies, and then afterwards his mother was kind enough to stay at the house while we watched a 9:00 movie! I can't remember the last time I watched a movie that late. I felt like a single adult again, we felt so irresponsible. The girls loved those cheese sticks. They thought they were pretty fun.
Fire hazard with so many candles..... :)
Just a cute picture of the goofball.
This may have been her favorite gift. A baby unicorn pillow pet. That girls loves anything soft like that, and will cuddle up with it all around her.
We went to Heber for the Memorial Day weekend, and so I had my birthday on that Saturday. I got to share it with that little guy sitting next to me. My nephew Camden turned 3. It was a good day spending time with my family and BBQing.
On Memorial Day we took the girls up the mountain by my parents house. I used to live in those mountains pretty much every summer. And so I showed them the cave that was by my house. When I was younger I wanted to throw my own birthday party. So I bought myself a candle and napkins or something like that, and I was going to have it in this cave. Well it never happened, but I had big plans! The girls thought it was pretty neat, and it brought back some good memories. They want to go climb the mountain every time we go to Grandma's house now.
This picture is the birthdays at Grandma Nelson's house. There were 4 people blowing candles out on that one cake. Two 3 year olds, One 6 year old, and one 26 year old (that's my age if you didn't guess). Happy Birthday to us!
