What a Small Cast...

So on Sunday evening we were at Shawn's parents house visiting as usual and Keely had wandered off into the back yard while Shawn and I were still at the table eating. Hailey, Keely's cousin came running in yelling "Keely fell and hurt herself really bad!" So I jump up and run to the backyard and Keely was on her way getting up crying. She had fallen off the jungle gym they have about 41/2 feet or so. She seemed like she was fine, just shaken up, then later that night I noticed her arm was looking weird. I took her to the doctor the next day, and sure enough she broke her arm. Poor little thing. They didn't want to cast it until 3 days after the injury. She didn't seem in too much pain except when she put pressure on it. The doctors called it a distal radius frature of the right arm. Once she got it on, she has been trying to pull it off and get her little fingers underneath to try to take it off. She just looks at me and say's "mom, mom" while pointing at it.

Keely doesn't like doctors as it is. Once we walk in the room, she freaks out. So this experience wasn't so good. I had to wrestle her down so she would hold still so the doctor could put the cast on. Now we have to look forward to baths and making sure it doesn't get wet. I can't imagine her keeping a plastic bag over it. She doesn't even like keeping a hat on. I feel so bad for her, but she looks so cute with that teeny cast on her arm....

I think purple suits her don't you?
