South Mountian

So this past Monday for Presidents Day Shawn didn't have school, so he took work off as well. Well we decided to get out of the house and go on a hike. Haha ya you are wondering "with a two year old?" Well Shawn remembered going on an easy hike when he was younger with his family to South Mountain, the Mormon Trail. Haha ya and it ended up being harder than he remembered. Well it was pretty easy for us, but with a two year old it was a little difficult. But I must say I was really suprised with how well Keely did! She hiked pretty much the whole way up, about a mile distance. She wouldn't let us help her most of the time, she wanted to climb the rocks by herself (she is so independent). So it took us a really long time to get to the top. Sometimes I would try to carry her so that we could move a little faster, and let me tell ya, being six months pregnant carring a two year old on your back is quite a work out.

We ate lunch, and rested for a bit, then when it was time to go, we decided Shawn should carry her all the way down, becuase it took too long in the first place to get up there. So he carried her (thanks honey!) while we cruised down the mountian and she ended up falling asleep on his shoulder, she was so exhausted. It was a beautiful day and it was so nice to get out and do something different than just sit around the house all day. Next time we decide to go on a hike we will wait till Keely is a little older and an easier trail. :)

OH my heck! I didn't even feel like hiking (or walking) from my house to my car when I was pregnant let alone hike a mountain. Well I guess I walked miles in downtown Chicago at about that stage. I think I dialated a couple of cm after that...lol.
Looks like you had fun.

poor keely!! (burned by the curling iron) The dresser is awesom!! I love redoing furniture!! It's nice getting something for cheap and then making it nice!! Nic and I had an experience like that last year will Taya. Except it was 5 miles in and 5 miles out! Nic's mom took us on a family hike that was suppose to be maybe one mile and an easy hike. out was deadly!! we were all beat!! LOL!!
