Suprise, I'm Here!

Yes Lydia Gene Nelson is here weighing in at 7lbs 4 ounces, 19.5 inches long. She was born on May 22nd 2009 at 3:34 P.M. She was about 2 weeks early, but healthy and perfect. We love her so much and are so happy she is here safe to join our family. On Wednesday, the 21st, I had my doctors appointment, and when they took my blood pressure it was really high, for me anyway. I have always had really good readings. So my doc sent me to triage to do some blood work, and the results came back that my blood count wasn't good and they found protien in my urine, so I guess that meant that I was at risk for preeclamcia. My doctor decided that I needed to be induced to get the baby here. Well I wasn't dialated at all, so it took about 24 hours just to get me to a 3. So the next morning my doctor saw me at about 11 AM and broke my water. The contractions really started coming hard, and we had Lydia at 3:34. The delivery went very well, a lot better than the delivery with Keely, and I am feeling 100% more better than I did recoverying with Keely. It's true what they say that the 2nd one is so much easier than the 1st child.
I was so glad when they release me 24 hours after having her. I did not want to stay another night there. I hope I never have to be induced again, it was such a long process. Keely was so glad to have me come home from the hospital, and she is so happy to have a baby in the house. She wants to hold her all the time, and give her kisses and take care of her. Every morning she wakes up and say's "baby" and runs into our bedroom to look at her. I think she is feeling a little left out, but it will just take some time to get used to things around here and have a schedule again. Shawn and I feel so blessed to have 2 healthly beautiful little girls. I have to admit, I am a little overwhelmed with being a mom to two. I hope I can manage okay and nuture both of them the way they need to be. We will get along alright. :)

Don't you just love how satisfied babies look after eating?

First family picture with Lydia.

In some ways she looks a lot like Keely did.

First time Keely saw Lydia, she acted really weird, and din't want anything to do with her. And she kept asking "Mommy okay? Mommy Okay? Baby Okay?" She was very concerned for us. The second time Keely came to see Lydia, she was really excited and wanted to hold her, and kiss her. She is going to be such a good big sister.

Congrats on baby #2! It's an adjustment for the older one, but they quickly turn into mini mommies. I'm sure you'll adjust just fine. It takes some getting use to. Glad everything went well!

Ok-now it's me, Kandra. I am very excited for you and it gives me hope that my next one won't be as hard as the first one! Take it easy and don't be hard on yourself.
