House Full of Girls

My sister Kelli asked me to watch her girls while she left for a day to help with her stake trek, and so we had a house full of girls last week. Hailey and Addison spent the night on Wednesday and played all day on Thursday. We had a lot of fun. Keely had the most fun I would have to say. She loved having friends over to play with and to entertain her. Mom gets boring sometimes I think. Hailey and Addison were so good. They really are good little girls. They never complained about nothing to do in my small little house. Here are some pictures.....

Keely loved laying on Hailey's pillow pretending to sleep.

Hailey was getting frustraed that Keely took a liking to her braids. She also loved carrying Keely, and Keely thought it was so funny.I really like this picture of Keely snugly close to Hailey watching TV. If you look close you can see Addison got a hold of a marker and colored Keely's foot.

After those couple of night, I don't know how Shawn would do if we had all girls. He needs a boy to wrestle with. They sure were fun to have around though.

Here she comes!

So Keely is finally walking. Wahoo!!! She started about 2 weeks ago, I know I am a little behind in my posts. It is so fun to see her walk around. Everytime she falls she makes this little grunt noise, it's so funny. Walking also makes her look so much bigger and taller. Anyway, that is all I wanted to say. Later Alligator!

Rebellion

So my friend Amber tagged me, and I told Shawn that I wouldn't do the tagging thing if I started up a blog (he doesn't like them for some reason), so hopefully he won't see this post. Haha I know I am a rebel huh? It's kind of fun. :)

7 Random things about me
1. I love love love to sleep. That includes going to be at night early and taking naps. I don't get to take very many naps, but when I do, I cherish it.
2. I love to learn about things. I wish that I could go to school right now, because I just like to study and be in a classroom setting. When I was in college, I would read my textbooks beyond what the teacher assigned, because I would find them so interesting. When Shawn is done with school, then it will be my opportunity to finish my degree.
3. I am a list maker. I am constantly making list of what things I need to do. Shopping lists, chore list, work list, ect. I think I do it to keep me organized but Iit also gives me great pleasure to cross things off. It makes me feel like I am accomplishing things.
4. I love paper and office supplies. When I was little I asked my mom to get me paper and pencils and office stuff for Christmas. I was so excited to get a big storage thing of all kinds of supplies.
5. I have been on a lot of different diets, not that I wanted to lose weight necessarily, but because I just want to eat a certain thing all the time. For example, I have been on an ice cream and milk diet. In high school I would eat a lot of ice cream, wait I still do, so maybe I am on the diet still? On my milk diet, I drank about 80 oz of milk a day. Haha, that was a mistake though. I thought I was pouring the milk into an 8 oz glass when it was a 16 oz glass. We went through a lot of milk.
6. Two years ago I had foot surgery due to fallen arches. I had shin splints all the time because of it. My shin splints are gone, but my feet hurt all the time. I wish I never got the surgery, because I am always in pain. I get all excited about going running and working out, and then I dont, because the just the thought of running on them hurt.
7. I am a sucker for romantic movies, or just anything romantic; books, movies, tv series, ect. To name a few of my favorite, Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Man from Snowy River, and North and South.

Our Fun Little Life

So I haven't posted any pictures of Keely lately. Actually I haven't really blogged at all . Things have been busy with working, just taking care of the house and Keely. Not much has been going on except Shawn is going to school and I took on another little part time job at his work. I go in about 2 nights a week and scan papers for Shawn's boss. It isn't bad, it's nice to have a little extra money. We got a new couch from Shawn's Grandma. It is practically brand new, and we got a good deal on it. So right now we have 2 full size couches in our small apartment. We would get rid of it, but it's my sister Ginger's and she has no where to store it. Oh speaking of Ginger, she is getting married!! Yahoo. And who might the lucky man be? David Bently. I was thinking about it last night, how strange it is that they are getting married. In high school you would have never guessed. She is so happy and David is such a good guy. It's kind of weird that she is the last one that my parents have to give away. We are all just growing up, and we will all have our own families. Weird.
Shawn and I started watching Lost starting with season 1. They have all the episodes on abc.com and we are like addicted to it. Why didn't anyone tell me how good this show was? Sometimes it kind of gives me an errie feeling. When we watch it right before bed and I need to get up to brush my teeth, and it is dark in the rest of the house, I get kind of scared. Shawn of course thinks I am silly for brushing really fast and jumping under the covers. But if you've seen the show, you can see what I am talking about. "The Others" One weekend we watched like 12 hours of it. Haha we are so sad.Keely still isn't walking. She will be 4 months old in 4 days. I can't wait till she walks, I think it will be easier. People tell me that it isn't but I think it would be nice to set her down anywhere I need to. She is such a funny little girl; she cracks me up. Shawn was growing out his beard about a month ago to see how long he could stand it, and he would rub Keely's hand on his it and she would just start laughing so hard. It was cute.

This is what Keely does for the majority of her day. She loves her car. She tries to get her care bear and her on it with the same time. It is so fun to watch her get on and off it while holding on her bear. She had her first bubble bath tonight, she didn't know what to think of them. It was funny she was trying to put the bubbles into a cup, but of course they were just sticking to her hand.

I think that is all that we have been up to. Not too much... oo except for my story below, make sure you read that fun little tale :)

Gone Fishn'

Okay, so I think this is a funny story. Shawn doens't think so, but I it was really exhilerating to me. So our toilet has been clogged for like a week, we plunged and plunged but it just wasn't getting better. Shawn blamed it on me, and then he blamed it that Keely put something down there. I knew she didn't because I always make sure the seat is down when she is in there. That is the first thing I do when going into the bathroom. So today I bought a wire thingy that goes down into the pipes (I don't know what it is called). I put it down there and after about 15 minutes of fighting with that thing, out comes this....

(Not the glove, but the pick) It was so exciting for some reason. My heart was seriously pounding. Just to clear things up, I have never seen that pick in my life, it has been there since we moved in about 2 years ago, and now the toilet decided to act up. Anyway, so that is my story. I told Shawn that it was like the most exciting part of my week. I know I am such a nerd, but it was fun to accomplish and fix the problem. I felt like I climbed Mt Everest. Haha :)

We Will Miss You Dear Prophet

Well those of you who don't know, our dear prophet President Gordon B. Hinckley passed away last night about 7pm. He was almost 98 years old. He was such an amazing man doing the things he was doing at his age. I will miss him so dearly, as I am sure most people will. He is in such a better place now as he is having his long overdue reuinion with his sweet wife Marjorie. I have had 3 presidents in my lifetime, but President Hinckley is the one I knew the best. I was priveledge to see him at the Snowflake Arizonal Temple dedication. Our ward was one of the few that was chosen to put bootie socks on the people going in. President Hinckley pulled up in a red sports car, which was pretty funny. And when he stepped on those holy grounds, everything was quite and peaceful. You could sense that he was a prophet of the Lord. He was so lively and happy, shaking as many hand as he could. I hope I never forget that memory. I love President Hinckley and I hope he know how much he is going to be missed, and how much he is appreciated for the service he has put into the progressing of the Lord's Kingdom here on earth.

Nelson Highlights in 2007

I saw other's blogs and thought this was a fun thing to do. I as well neglected to do Christmas Cards that I really wanted to do, but never did. Soo....
I will start off by saying that we have been really blessed this past year of 2007. Keely was born in December of 2006, but it's kind of like she was born in 2007 (if that makes sense). I still remember bringing her home from the hospital and taking care of her those first couple of weeks. I was so paranoid that she would get RSV. Ask Shawn, I was constantly reading books so I was educated in preventing Keely from getting RSV. That is one thing that doctors tell you about. So I worried all the time that she got it, and a couple days after her blessing in February we found out Keely was sick with RSV, my worst nightmare. We stayed 5 days in the hospital, maybe the worst days of my life. But everything turned out right, as all our trials seem to do.
Shawn left his job installing Alarms for Southwest Dealer Services, and is now working for Allstate since February.
Shawn went snowboarding in April to Colorado with some friends. In May Shawn turned 25 and I turned 21 (which was a huge break in our car insurance!) In July Shawn and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary. In August my sisters, mom and I went to Connecticut to visit Ginger, and we got to do the whole New York experience. Also Shawn re-enrolled in school full time still working hard. He starts again in about a week.
In September the Nelson clan invaded Disneyland, which was really really fun to have the whole family there. Keely was able to get her first beach experience and Shawn was able to visit his mission.
I think that is all the highlights of the year. We have been so blessed that I can hardly name all the blessing that we have. We are excited for the new year, as we know Shawn is getting that much closer to finishing school and Keely is learning so much everyday. These past years have gone by so fast, hopefully this year will seem to last longer and bring much more joy. Happy New Year!
