4th of July

I am behind with my blogging. Go figure...Year after year we go to Heber at my parent's house for the 4th of July. It has always been my favorite holiday of the year. There's just nothing like being in Heber for the fireworks and family. This year all of my 8 brothers, that's including my brother in laws, helped my dad build his work shop in the back yard. It was so cool to see my brothers getting together to build something and helping each other. They were able to frame and get the roof on. We of course BBQed and saw the fireworks after. We already miss the cool weather and family. Here are some pictures of the weekend....

In my mom's front yard. She saw her other cousin being pushed by her older brother, and Lydia just climbed right in. She thought that was a great idea with those Tonka trucks.
Just starting to put the roof off.
Just the beginning of the shop. My dad was so excited to have these grown men help.
My good looking husband cutting the wood. He was the wood cutter. He now wants a chop saw...

Lydia is One!

Our little Lydia turned one years old on the 22nd of May. I can't believe have fast her year went. Between Shawn switching jobs 2 time, moving into the new house, working on the new house, ect. I really don't know where her first year went! Anyway, we had a little birthday bash here at our house. I was so excited to be able to do it in our own home with out having to go to a park like we did Keely's. So we just have some family over to watch Lydia eat some cake and have ice cream.

Anyway, here's a little about Lydia.....she is such a busy busy little girl. I know I have said that before, but she just goes from one thing to the next, you can hardly sit with that girl, and church is so hard trying to contain her. She was that way ever since she was born! Haha. She is walking quite a bit, her instinct to walk is overcoming her instinct to crawl as of these last couple of days. She can walk the length of the room pretty steady now. In a week she'll be a walking pro, she tries all the time. She loves Keely so much! It's a good think Lydia wasn't born first, because she would be bored silly. When we are at a play group or something she only has eyes for Keely and will laugh at what ever she does. It makes me so happy to hear them laughing together all the time. She loves to eat, and isn't picky, which is very helpful. She weighed in at the doctors 20lbs 10 ounces, and was 31 in. long. I guess she is in the 90% for her height. I didn't realize she was tall. Maybe she'll be tall like her daddy. She has 8 teeth. She loves balls and cars, which is funny, because we really don't have that stuff around here. She is a good sleeper, takes two - 2 hour naps a day and sleeps 11 hours at night. Hmm what else. She is so happy. It's hard to get a smile out of her from a stranger, but if she knows you, she will smile all day. We sure love her!

Long Overdue Post

It has been a really long time since I last posted, and there really hasn't been a reason why, just laziness I guess. Well we have been busy in other areas. We pulled up all our tile in our house, and replaced it with new flooring and carpet. I've been painting trim, walls, and doors. Replacing doorknobs and such. Replacing the bathroom flooring. So ya, I guess we have been busy, trying to get our house the way we want it. Pictures will come soon, but we don't have any baseboards yet, so I will wait till we get those in a couple weeks or so. It is fun making our house the way we want it, but also stressful. Paint colors....ugg are so hard to find the right color. It drives me mad. I painted all downstairs, a tan color, but the more I look at it, the more I don't like it. but I think I found the color to repaint it. It's just so much work.

During cousin's sprink breaks, we got to go to the zoo twice. Once with the Nelson's and once with my mom and sisters. We love to go to the zoo and walk around. I didn't get any pictures with my mom and sisters, but here are some of the Nelson trip.I love this picture with the stroller. We got a double stroller, and if you can see Keely in the back with her cousin JP, they are so little that it became a triple stroller. I am so glad that we got it, it makes trips like that a whole lot easier. The girls have been so fun lately. Keely is listening so well now. I put her in a dance class, that she loves. I think it gives her something to look forward to and makes her feel important. She loves to dance. Lydia is in to EVERYTHING! She is such a busy, busy little girl. Keely was just opposite, I am not sure what I am going to do with Lydia. The other day, I found Lydia playing in the toilet water, pulling down all the toilet paper, getting into the trash, ect, ect. She is nonstop going. I don't know what I am going to do when she starts walking.

Keely loves to feed Lydia. She will even be better at it with the next baby. That will be nice.

Easter was a good quiet day at home, with conference and everything. Shawn even made the girls a castle to play in on the stairs. We went to Grandma Nelson's for dinner, and a little egg hunt. I didn't get a picture of them in their Easter dresses the Sunday before, but they were cute. Caslte, with two princesses.Lydia has been standing by herself lately, and gets so proud.Lydia and her cousin Zoey find their eggs on the blanket area.
That is all for now, hopefully by my next post, I will have before and after pictures of our house. I can't wait! :)

Play, Play, Play

All Keely wants to do these days is play, play, play. So lately when Shawn and I have been putting her down for her nap time or bed time, she is always getting out of bed. She will change her clothes, read her books, sing, ect, ect because she can't or won't fall asleep. So this past week, or so, we have found her sleeping in some funny positions.

This is during one nap time, when she fell asleep in the bathroom on the floor. She did look really comfy. This picture was taken like at 11 at night. I went upstairs to go to bed and the light was on. She borrowed that book from Grandma Nelson and loves them.

This one cracks me up. I was going to bed, the light was on again. I love how she has her shoes on. She was probably changing her shirt and got too tired to put another one on?
I think I am going to stop giving her naps, which makes me so sad, because I love nap times, and she is such a good naper, but if she has a nap, she plays unitl 11 at night and can't go to sleep. Darn it.
On a side note, Lydia is crawling, I am really going to have my hands full.

Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam

Keely has graduated from nursery and now is in Sumbeams! She is growing up so fast. She is such a good girl, and just sits quietly in her seat and watches all the big kids. How do I know this you ask? Well I got a calling 4 weeks ago..... I am the Primary music leader. Those who know me will probably laugh. I laughed when they told me. I am a little intimidated, but I am getting used to it, and learning what works and what doesn't. It will be good for me to break out of my shell a little bit. I love primary though. I am so thankful that Shawn and I were primary teachers in our last ward, because Ithink that it prepared me for this calling now. It reminded me what goes on and what is expected during sharing time. But ya, it's fun though to watch Keely in primary. I sit like 3 feet away from her, and she is good to stay in her seat while I am doing my thing which I was a little worried about. "Come with me to primary, come with me to primary, whereever in the world that you may be, oh come with me to primary"

The Holidays and such.

We had a wonderful holiday season. We prepare and prepare, and it seems like it just fly's by. We are so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends, employment, and food on the table. We stayed at our home Christmas morning and visted Shawn's family in the afternoon. We then went to see my parents in Heber the day after and got to play in some snow. For New Year's Eve, we had my family brother Travis and Ginger come over to play games. We played Clue, ya you heard right Clue, and Apples to Apples. After Travis and Jen's family left, Ginger and her hubby Steve and Shawn and I played rockband. Steve was amazing at the drums, It was really fun to have everyone come over. I love having a house where we can actually fit people, now we just need furniture for them to SIT. Baby steps people. Here are some pictures....Keely and her cousin Cossette, playing in the snow. They are 3 months apart and get along so well together.Lydia, Christmas morning. The loves of my life. Aren't they so adorable?

The finished stocking that i completed after 2 years in the closet. I thought they turned out awesome.
